I am over the moon to be the featured seller on Etsy!! When I was contacted a few weeks ago, I went into a mild panic. I had to answer interview questions and of course, completely over-thought everything and took days to write a couple of paragraphs. I must have re-read and re-wrote it at least 50 times!! Then I had to get some professional looking photos done, but I only have a pretty average camera, so I had a limited time to borrow a quality camera and get some decent shots. I enlisted my husband to take the photos. Big mistake! I liken it to putting up a tent together - not good :( Then I went to plan B and set up the camera on a tripod to get some process pics. The minute I did this the sun disappeared and my studio was super dark. So I moved everything outside and started again, phew! But in the end it was so worth the effort. I think the article makes me sound relatively normal and the photos (after a few hours in Photoshop) turned out better than I expected. It is very exciting to be recognised in the creative community, and totally heartwarming and overwhelming to read all the positive and encouraging comments readers have left. I feel very blessed!

I am very lucky to have a handy husband who is converting our garage into a pottery studio. In addition to my new kiln, I am getting a LOT of shelving, a nice big solid work table for wedging and rolling, and a clean area for wrapping and packaging. Up until now I have been doing everything in a studio which used to be a large bedroom - so now that can be used for design work and computer stuff, paperwork etc. I won't have to constantly clean and move pottery from one table to the other as I move through each stage of the making process. In the meantime though there is a bit of chaos and mess, a lot of trips to Bunnings and sawdust on every surface!

I will be having my first stall at The Village Markets tomorrow. I was checking out their website this morning and was so excited to see myself (well a bowl, not me literally) on the home page! If you live on the Goldie or are taking a day trip down from Brisbane, pop in and say hi. It is an amazing market with fresh designer clothing, vintage goodies, lots of unique hand crafted homewares, great food and live entertainment..and of course, beautiful ceramics from moi!! Well, I better get back to the bubble wrap.

After much deliberation, I took the plunge and bought my own kiln! It arrived this week and I couldn't be happier (even if I am now broke). Luckily I had a lovely electrician on hand (husband) to wire it all up and have done two perfect bisque firings already. It's SO nice not to have to pack everything in bubble wrap and do an hour round trip to do each firing. More time for making - yah! I just put the program in for a glaze firing and loaded her up again, so fingers crossed...

Two of my pots are featured in this month's Home Beautiful magazine! I did joke to a few people that they would probably be out of focus or cut out of the shot, and as it turns out my prediction was fairly accurate - my cloud bowl is a bit fuzzy and you almost need a magnifying glass to see the scalloped bowl, but who cares, they're in there and so is my name!!!
